‘Twas the week before Christmas, and PSU fans
Were busily making their holiday plans.
Though smarting from missing another post-season,
The Gorilla faithful had plenty of reason
To hope for the future, and dream of great glory,
To add to the most-storied program’s long story.
All Pitt fans were focused on one simple thing –
The question of what the next season would bring.
Coach Ton, who had served us so long and so well
Had now stepped aside, and time only would tell
Whether this hard-working coach’s successor
Would prove to be greater, or prove to be lesser.
And Coach K, who gave us those stalwart O-lines
Would move into comfy front-office confines;
But T. Riggs’ loss was beyond a bitter pill –
Undoubtedly his will be big shoes to fill.
