Gorillas Answer the Call

On the road, with their backs against the wall the Pitt State Gorillas, led by their 3rd team QB beat Central Missouri on the road in Warrensburg.

The game went to double overtime, and the Gorillas prevailed 38-31.

Chadd Snyder scored on the third play in double overtime, when an electric 6 yard run, doing a flip, ala John Elway into the endzone. Justin Witter added his 5th extra point of the game to go ahead by the final margin.

The Gorilla defense held Central on 4 downs, ending with an incomplete pass under pressure.

Chadd Snyder entered the game in the second quarter, and rushed for 120 yards and 2 TD’s, threw for 139 yards and a touchdown. Caleb Farabi, the leading rusher in the MIAA ran 23 times for 122 yards. His only touchdown was the game winner in double-overtime Read the rest of this entry »

Too Much of a Good Thing

Those who have frequented Teamkong over the years have hear me call gameday in Pittsburg, KS, a “Holiday.” It has been well documented that Pittsburg State University has THE best gameday atmoshere in NCAA Division II.

This atmosphere is SO good, if fact, the NCAA as part of their community engagement, sent a team to Pittsburg last year to see for themselves, and to interview many of us as to what makes PSU gameday so special. As well all know, its the people that makes this so special. (To see their video visit www.diicommunity.org )
